Open Water Diver Course

Your Open Water Course in Ao Nang, Krabi

A 3 or 4 day course that focuses on basic knowledge development and the practice of core scuba diving skills in the pool and open water. There is some classroom work involved but emphasis is placed on self study, if you complete the required reading beforehand, then your classroom time will be minimal. The Open Water course is your first true step on the ladder of scuba diving education, upon qualification you will be able to plan and dive to depths of 18m. Your Open Water certification is a lifetime qualification recognised in over 175 countries that opens up approximately 70% of the planet for you to explore.

The PADI Open Water course is comprised of 5 knowledge development modules or 6 knowledge development modules with SSI, 5 confined water training sessions and 4 open water dives, all conducted at a pace conducive to learning.

Open Water Diver Prerequisites

Minimum age 10 (Both PADI E-Learning and SSI Online Training requires a minimum age of 13 years due to international internet laws). General health and fitness, the ability to swim 200 metres and tread water/float for 10 minutes.

PADI/SSI materials (SSI materials to be returned to the dive centre after completion of the course), certification fee, instructor time, all diving equipment, lunch, snacks and soft drinks onboard our boat, marine park fees and transfers to and from your hotel.

Moving On

Now that you're qualified, the world is your oyster! A further two days of diving and you could be an Advanced Open Water Diver which will allow you to dive down to a depth of 30 metres and gain experience in a range of skills and specialties that interest you. Alternatively, why not join us for some fun diving to a variety of local dive sites to gain some additional experience, or maybe join one of our liveaboard trips to the Similan Islands - voted one of the top 10 places to dive in the world.
