Scuba Addicts is the only dive centre in Ao Nang, Krabi to use Halcyon wing-style BCD's as standard. Originally designed for technical diving, Halcyon wings are now becoming the standard kit choice for recreational scuba divers, due to their simplicity and ease of use.

Why Halcyon Wings?

Firstly, with a simple adjustment of webbing straps, a Halcyon Wing can be perfectly fitted to all body shapes and sizes. No more BCD's that are just a bit too small or slightly too big, our wings fit like a glove. Secondly a Halcyon Wing doesn't have the bulky pockets, straps and excess lift capacity associated with most traditional BCD's. When air is released in order to descend, the air cell wraps around the tank resulting in better streamlining. As a result, less weight is needed in order to descend, typically, wing users will use half the weight they would normally use with a standard BCD. What little weight is needed, is added to the tank bands which when coupled with the in-built Aluminium backplate, results in weight being spread out directly above the lungs and a more horizontal, more streamlined position in the water.

For the 2008/2009 season we will also be the only dive centre in Ao Nang to offer Docs Proplugs to our valued customers as we feel that prevention of common ear problems is far better than soreness, earache and missed dives.
