PADI Divemaster training, Krabi, Thailand

The second option includes all of the above, but is completed in a three month Divemaster internship (on the job, work experience). We actively encourage our Divemaster trainees to complete an internship as it provides you with much more hands-on, practical experience and a greater insight into dive centre operations. In addition, it gives you more time to complete your examinations and gain more in-depth knowledge of daily diving logistics, equipment, compressor and boat maintenance, retail sales and customer service.

Divemaster Prerequisites

  1. Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent).
  2. Be certified as a PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent).
  3. Have logged a minimum of 20 open water dives prior to entry into PADI Divemaster training, and completed and logged a minimum of 60 open water dives with experience in night, deep and navigation prior to certification as a PADI Divemaster.
  4. Be at least 18 years old.
  5. Be in good physical condition for diving and submit a medical exam form signed by a physician.
Bored of the normal 9-5 routine? Do you wake up on a Monday morning with a lack of energy and motivation? Are you living for the weekends?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then you need to break free from the rat race and train for a job where the sun is always shining, your customers are always happy and where you get to experience something new every day.

PADI Divemaster, is one of the most sought after qualifications in the diving community, it shows you have attained a professional status that requires a high level of skill and knowledge and that is both intellectually and physically demanding.

Typically, there are two routes to becoming a PADI Divemaster. The first, requires about one month of your time and involves you doing the bare minimum to meet all of the Divemaster performance requirements. When we say 'bare minimum', we mean you will work your socks off for one month, completing knowledge development study and exams, in diverse topics such as Physics, Physiology, Decompression Theory and more. There are 8 theory topics and exams.

In addition, you will be required to complete water stamina tests, rescue scenarios, a stress test, a mapping exercise, a skills demonstration and actively organise and participate in running PADI courses and experiences.
